Sorry, I FORGOT my selflessness in 2021…

All your one-sided lovers will hate me for writing on this but somebody will have to be the bad guy… This heroic act has been appreciated all the time and is often used as a compliment sometimes, which I despise.

We are conditioned to look after others and love them even when our own life is chaotic, why? Kjo made a movie out of this over-glorified act of selflessness and some of us are fans? Argh.

Now there is a difference between Generosity & Selflessness. We all should be generous because then we are not pouring out of empty cups, selflessness, however, makes you serve tea from your empty cup which you are hardly filling up.

Do we think by giving more from ourselves to someone who will not value is brave? Sorry SRK, for the lack of a better word, it is STUPID. I will also VERY KINDLY INFORM that narcissists and abusers prey on such people. Let's not be the victims of our own illusionary world. People who derive their self-worth ( including old me) from putting others first, really need to get OUR OWN life.

I am up for a debate but in the long run, nobody remembers or appreciates your sacrifices or your forgiving nature. In the best-case scenario, they will write a note saying I THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE but by then you have already wasted your big chunk of life to realise that this was all rubbish.

People are only looking out for themselves and so should you.

Standing by a beautiful lake, pondering over your big mistakes and thinking what went wrong is so 90s. It's 2022, we don't waste time here so please start getting up for your own purpose, serve yourself and make yourself a priority NOW.

And all you one-sided lovers, please find someone who can reciprocate your feelings and experience healthy relationships. Don't look at SRK & Ranbir Kapoor for inspiration because, in real life, they too have their love stories going on pretty well. :)

Unlearn the art of selflessness, we don't do that in 2022.
